This process is rasterization: the renderer translates vector paths, fills, gradients and text into pixels at your requested output size. The SVG is sanitized before it reaches the preview or renderer, and the source remains unchanged on your device. Using AVIF for modern image delivery

AVIF can produce compact assets for current browser workflows, particularly when artwork includes gradients, texture or many colours. It also supports transparency, which makes it more flexible than JPG for layered page designs. Encoding can take longer than simpler formats, especially at large dimensions or a 4x resolution multiplier. Begin with the dimensions the design actually requires and compare the downloaded file visually. Preserve the SVG as the authoritative master and treat AVIF as a delivery copy. Settings that affect the result

Width and height define the artwork's pixel proportions before the resolution multiplier is applied. Keep the aspect-ratio lock enabled to avoid stretching. The background setting is particularly important for JPG because that format has no alpha channel; PNG, WebP and AVIF can retain transparent areas when no opaque background is required.

Quality changes the encoding of AVIF output where that format supports a quality setting. It doesn't change the geometry of the SVG. Fine lines can look soft when exported at a very small size, so choose dimensions close to the size where the image will actually appear. Fonts must be available to the server or the renderer may use a substitute.
